Guided ascent of Tower Ridge - Ben Nevis
Need some inspiration? Why not challenge yourself to one of Scotlands most iconic mountain routes and climb Ben Nevis the hard way? The highlight of its imposing North Face is Tower Ridge, which needs little introduction to hill walkers and climbers alike. It has been the scene of many epic tales the majority of which culminate around the crux of the route; Tower Gap which guards the way to the summit plateau of Ben Nevis. It should be better known as one of Scotland’s prize mountaineering routes, one of the longest in the United Kingdom and the centrepiece of the spectacular North Face. In our opinion, Tower Ridge is the best way to reach the summit of The Ben.

The Cuillin Ridge; Isle of Skye
The Isle of Skye is the largest island of the Inner Hebrides; it is situated off the West coast of Scotland and accessed via the Skye bridge and the Kyle of Lochalsh. The centre of the island is dominated by the Cuillin Mountains which provide some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the UK.
It is this mountain range that attracts mountaineers far and wide, many of which arrive with high hopes of summiting the twelve Munros the island hosts. Eleven of these are on the main Cuillin Ridge with just Blabheinn sitting slightly further afield.
A high level of fitness will allow you to enjoy the endless amount of scrambling and climbing the Cuillin mountains have to offer.
Guided Ascent of the In Pinn
The twelve Munros on the Isle of Skye are among the most challenging mountains the UK has to offer. Not only do they require technical skills to reach their heights but navigating through this tricky and sometimes hazardous terrain takes patience, knowledge and often good visibility.
By allowing us to safeguard you on the tricky ascents and take away the navigational difficulties in poor weather, the odds are stacked in your favour of making it to the top of these highly prized mountains.
Arguably the most iconic landmark on the Cuillin Ridge is the Inaccessible Pinnacle. The idea of climbing this impressive feature should be on the mind of every mountaineer who visits the island. Accompanied by a qualified instructor; it can be a lot of fun!
A typical ascent takes in the sensationally exposed East Ridge before a straightforward but steep abseil returns team members to the ground. You can click on the link below to see a typical itinerary for a guided ascent of the Inaccessible Pinnacle.

Skye Cuillin Ridge Traverse
Dreaming of completing a Cuillin Ridge Traverse?
No other ridge in the United Kingdom offers more exposed and continuous scrambling than the Skye Cuillin Ridge. Stretching over 12km in length and demanding 3500m+ of ascent, it deserves a title as one of the best Alpine ridgelines in Europe. Linking all the summits along its jaggy crest in one push should not be underestimated; the rock is loose and incredibly exposed in places but in the company of our experienced Instructors we will help guide you through its intricacies and experience all that the Skye Cuillin Ridge has to offer.

How our Cuillin Ridge Traverse works….
A traverse is typically attempted over two days but by booking three or even four days guiding the chance of success rises dramatically. The extra days allow some flexibility for the best weather window but also allows parties to either stash bivouac equipment, practice technical skills or go rock climbing at the end of your stay. If for any reason the weather does not allow an attempt at a full traverse, individual guided days will be offered but returning to the Glen each evening to rest and dry off. Single day traverses are only offered to exceptionally fit and competent climber.
The price includes a three day window as standard. This gives teams a buffer day to allow for the best weather for a traverse. We always do our best to be flexible to allow participants the best chance of success, however, sometimes mother nature has other ideas!
Summer Rock Climbing
Here in the Scottish Highlands, the spring and summer days are bright and long allowing us to make use of the huge amount of rock climbing on offer. The crags are quiet and unspoilt with little in the way of traffic or polish to contend with.
Our goal is to help you make the jump; whether you’re just starting out and need an introduction to rock climbing, have some experience but seek better climbing technique or to become a competent leader who wants to push themselves into the elusive ‘E’ grades.
If you choose to book with Synergy Guides expect to be joined by a qualified Mountaineering Instructor or British Mountain Guide. Not only are we qualified, but we are also experienced and enthusiastic about our own climbing. We don’t have a big team but we do have a specifically selected set of instructors available to guide you on your next mountain adventure.

I have done a couple of trips with Steve now. Last year I enjoyed a week scrambling in Glen Coe culminating in an ascent of Tower Ridge on Ben Nevis. Earlier this year we did a 2 day traverse of the Cuillin Ridge on Skye. Both trips were amazing experiences that took me beyond what I thought I could do.
